At Bradley Road, Agripower were contracted to construct a full size synthetic pitch, premier pitch and 3 training pitches.
At tender stage it was assumed by all tenderers and the consultants that the drainage outlet would be directly into the main combined sewer at the low end of the site.
As works progressed on site the local water authority decided to refuse a connection and Agripower were requested to come up with a design solution.
Unfortunately, the area has a 10-15m clay cap over chalk, but it is a protected aquifer zone preventing the construction of deep borehole soakaways, a surface soakaway being of no use due to the clay cap. We designed a storm water attenuation system featuring to two separate cells each with hydrobrake flow control units using Microdrainage software, these calculations were carried out in house to comply with a target maximum outflow of 23ltrs per second.
All works were carried out with our own personnel, plant and management.
