This project was tendered under a design and build contract via the Sports Construction Consultancy. Agripower were chosen on being deemed the most competent to undertake the works and their design solution offered best value to the client in terms of delivery and quality.
The works entailed the construction of a full size TigerTurf Evo Pro pitch with an 8 column floodlighting system and a 5.0m high twin bar and super panel, green galvanised perimeter fence.
The works involved mature tree removal, ground remediation, a large cut and fill with gabion retaining walls at both the cut and fill ends
The subsoil was stabilised using cement/lime stabilising allowing works to continue through a period of poor weather. The new power supply had to be bought from over 100 metres away and through an existing occupied building.
Consultant Bob Scrivener from Sports Construction Consultancy commented
"Agripower started construction at The Royal Masonic School at Rickmansworth in early November - the worst possible time of the year.By carefully controlled construction management and the use of ground stabilisation, an excellent pitch has been constructed, primarily for hockey but also for some community use.I have been very satisfied with the contractor's performance who has also maintained a good relationship with the client. "
All works were carried out with existing minimal disruption to the school and delivered earlier than anticipated and to the clients budget.
"We have been extremely pleased with the highly professional way that Agripower have approached all aspects of what is a very significant project for us. They have managed the movement of vehicles and personnel with the greatest regard for the safety of the school community, have always listened and responded to any input from us as clients and above all have produced a stunning looking pitch within time and budget. We would have no hesitation in recommending Agripower for this type of project."
